The Foreman

Terms of Service

Last updated 12 September 2026

The short version. The Foreman is a tool for running your remodeling business. Your work is yours. We are not your accountant, not your lawyer, and not a bank — the money your customers pay you goes between them and you, not through us.

Check the numbers before you send them. The app does the arithmetic; you are the one signing the quote.

These terms are the agreement between you and Waterman Holdings LLC, a New Jersey company, for use of The Foreman app and this website. Using the app means you accept them.

Your account

You need an account to use the app, and you need to be at least 18 and using it for a business. Keep your password to yourself — anything done from your account is treated as done by you. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got in.

One person, one account. Do not share a login with a crew; it makes a mess of whose hours are whose.

Your work belongs to you

Your quotes, invoices, job records, photos, customer list — all of it stays yours. We do not claim any ownership of it. We store and process it only to run the app for you, exactly as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export it or delete it at any time.

You are responsible for what you put in: that you have the right to hold your customers' details, and that what you send out under your business name is accurate.

We are not a payment processor

This one matters, so it gets its own section. The Foreman never holds your money.

When a customer pays you by card, that payment is processed by Stripe under Stripe's own agreement with you, and the funds go from your customer to your Stripe account and then to your bank. We never take custody of the money and we never see card numbers.

When you get paid by Venmo, Cash App or Zelle, we are even further out of it: the app simply shows your customer a link or your handle. The payment happens entirely between your customer and you, inside apps we have nothing to do with. If one of those payments goes wrong, it is between you, your customer, and that service.

We are not a bank, a money transmitter, an escrow service, or a payment processor. We do not guarantee that any customer will pay you, and we cannot recover a payment for you.

The numbers are yours to check

The app does arithmetic for you: totals, tax, markup, labor, profit. We work hard to make that arithmetic exact to the cent, and we test it. But a quote or an invoice goes out under your name, to your customer, and you are the one who has to stand behind it. Read it before you send it.

The same goes for anything the app suggests about taxes or deductions. It is built to be useful, not to be authoritative, and it is not tax advice. Tax rules vary by state and by situation. Use an accountant for the decisions that matter.

What the AI does, and what it does not

Parts of the app use an AI model — writing a first-draft quote from your description, reading a receipt, answering what you ask the assistant. It is a fast first draft, and it is sometimes wrong. Prices, quantities, scope, and what a receipt actually says are all things you should check before they reach a customer. Where the app can show you a figure to confirm before it commits it, it does; where you skip past that, the result is on you.

Fair use

Do not use The Foreman to break the law, to send anything to anyone who has not agreed to hear from you, to store someone else's data you have no business holding, or to attack, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service. Do not resell access to it. We can suspend an account that is doing any of this.

The app is still young

The Foreman is in active development. Features change, some get replaced, and occasionally something breaks. We aim for the app to be available whenever you need it, but we do not promise uninterrupted service, and we may take it down briefly for maintenance. If a change is going to affect how you work, we will try to tell you first.

Ending it

You can delete your account from inside the app at any time: Settings → Login & password → Delete my account. It is immediate and permanent, so export anything you need for your records first. We may close an account that breaks these terms, and where it is reasonable to do so, we will give you notice and a chance to get your data out.

Where we draw the line on liability

The app is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be free of errors or that it will fit every situation. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost business, or indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before it arose.

Nothing here takes away rights the law gives you and does not let us take away.

Changes to these terms

If we change them in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app rather than quietly swapping the page. The date at the top tells you which version you are reading. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts sitting in New Jersey.
